The Composite Continuum
PMC is the forerunner in Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (CFRT®) composite technology. We have spent over two decades developing CFRT® materials and their applications to the benefit of our customers and the end-user.
CFRT® provides the next level of structural performance in thermoplastics. The continuum from neat resin to short fiber thermoplastics to LFT and GMT is extended by CFRT with mechanical properties that are greatly enhanced. Thus, CFRT® is the “super-charged” plastic.
In comparison to thermoset composites, CFRT® provides greater impact resistance, corrosion resistance and other beneficial properties characteristic of thermoplastic polymers. In addition, CFRT® is amenable to rapid automation, low-cost production methods and is compatible with other thermoplastic processes.
By the way, did we mention that thermoplastic composites are recyclable?
